Is there such a thing as an ATA certified translation?

 No, there isn’t.

 Unfortunately, hundreds (or more) sites advertise they prepare ATA certified translations, some claiming further that they are ATA certified translation companies!

 Neither thing exists. They either do not know what they are, or they are trying to deceive you.

 ATA does not certify translations or translation companies.

 These companies are trying to lure you into thinking they have been vetted by the American Translators Association (ATA), approved and certified by them.  

 Additionally, there is no such a thing as a USCIS certified translation. Again, the advertiser is trying to deceive you into thinking they have been vetted by USCIS, approved and certified by them.

 This is a bad way to start a business transaction. Avoid these companies.

 An informed client is a good client.
